Historical sites are found all over the world which have historical status including ancient mosques, forts, temples and many other places. One such very old and historic fort is 35 km west of Sun city in Jamshoro district of Sindh province of Pakistan. Located which is known as the Wall of Sindh (Rani Kot).


Rani Kot is a mountain range in Kherthar which is 32 km long. The four entrances to this historic and captivating wall are known as Sun Gate, Amri Gate, Shah Pir Gate and Mohan Gate. The gate got its name from the road coming from the city of Sun. 


Similarly, the gate of Amri got its name from the former inhabited city of Amri, while the third entrance due to Mohankot got the name of Mohan Gate and the reason for the name of Shah Pir Gate. It is not known yet in history. Speaking of history, let us mention that no real history of Rani Kot has been known so far which can be ascertained in which period it was built and by whom. By the way, some historians say that this wall dates back to the time of Koro and Pandavas.

(Sindh Wall) Within the precincts of Rani Kot are three small forts, including Meri Kot, which is said to have been the residence of the king at that time, Mohenjo-daro, the third Shergarh Kot But there are also two wells for collecting water. Only those who go to this fort know how difficult it is to reach by head.


There is a natural freshwater spring inside Rani Kot which runs all the year round. There are some very small villages inside Rani Kot and they have been living there for many generations. Today they still have basic facilities like electricity, gas. Are deprived of The spring water is in the form of a pond in a place called Fairy's Pond by the locals. They believe that fairies used to come here many years ago to take a bath, which is why they are called Parin Jo Tar.


Rani Kot and the coats made inside it whose history is still vague but by looking at it we can only guess and may be surprised to see that in this age perfect work has been done without any modern equipment. Visitors to historical sites must visit this place once.
