Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi tops the list of Central Universities of the country released by the Union Ministry of Education a few days ago. The university came into being at a time when the independence movement was in its infancy.

While the purpose of the establishment of the university is to remove the educational backwardness among the minorities, the promotion of the Urdu language is also an important purpose. For this reason, great Urdu poets and writers used to visit the Jamia Millia Islamia from the very beginning.

At present, Jamia Millia Islamia has a special identity in the field of education all over the world. By graduating from the university, not thousands but millions of people at home and abroad are serving the nation wherever they are employed. The university has also awarded honorary doctorates to great personalities of the world. 

The various departments of the University, especially the Engineering College, Teachers Training College, Mass Communication Center, Social Work Department, Arabic Department, Urdu Department, etc. have a special place in the world. The students of the university are shining the name of Jamia Millia Islamia in different fields all over the world.

Mr. Sir Syed Ahmed Khan founded an educational institution in Aligarh, but there is no denying the fact that Sir Syed Ahmed Khan was close to the British. Therefore, the Mujahideen-e-Azadi was concerned about this, so those who took part in the Indian War of Independence also founded an educational institution in Aligarh, Jamia Millia Islamia, on October 9, in the Jama Masjid of Aligarh College. In 1975, the university moved to rented houses in Karol Bagh, Delhi, where at one point it came close to closing the Jamia Millia Islamia, but a team of university officials stepped forward and offered their services. Not only took him out of difficult times but also put him on the path of progress. 

In 1967, the university was relocated to Okhla, where the lovers bought land and dedicated it to the university. The university received the status of a university in the year 2000 and the central university on December 3 Happened Attempts were also made to remove the word Islamia from the name of the university, but the lovers of the university, especially Mahatma Gandhi, vehemently opposed it. 

Assuming that the great nation has sacrificed its life, property and time to save Jamia Millia Islamia, which today is illuminating the whole country like a bright lamp. After Aligarh Muslim University, Jamia Millia Islamia is the only major public university that has played an important role in adorning Indian Muslims with the adornment of education.

After graduating from Darul Uloom Deoband with a degree in Quran and Hadith, I also enrolled in the Arabic Department of the Jamia Millia Islamia and continued my educational journey, which was founded by Shaykh-ul-Hind Hazrat Maulana Mahmood Hassan. 

He was the first student of Darul Uloom Deoband. I am proud that this institution has awarded me a doctorate degree. Jamia Millia Islamia is now a prestigious central university in India where not only thousands of students belonging to different sects of Muslims study but also followers of different religions are studying in this secular institution. 

During the establishment of the university, important qualities such as kindness, tolerance, kindness, humanity, tolerance and forbearance were born or strengthened in us through interactions with people with different views and opinions.
